The Alessandra Tote
The Alessandra Tote is a canvas 12 oz “jumbo” tote.
From a collaborative creation inspired by my friend Alessandra, her namesake tote was born. Our paths crossed through Janine, the talented owner of Homemade by Bruno, known for her pasta, gelato-making, and recipes showcased on Instagram and in her shop. Intrigued by Janine's recommendation to meet Alessandra, I drove to Philadelphia with my family from Italy, where we all connected. Our friendship grew through Instagram conversations mainly about our shared love of Italy and our passion for eating. Although we do have a shared love of authentic Italian food, when we are together we always find ourselves eating tacos. With Alessandra's support, Body By Rigatoni became a reality. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge one day, sharing my dreams for BBR, Alessandra mentioned her husband Ryan's ability to screen print the apron my mom had originally designed. From that moment on the bridge, Body By Rigatoni felt achievable. The “Alessandra Tote” is inspired by Alessandra living in America, but always missing and keeping Italy in her heart. Eventually we found ourselves having late nights, drinking espresso at 2AM, & chugging Pellagrino brainstorming everything Italian that could represent the “Alessandra Tote.”
Alessandra moved from Morro d’oro in Abruzzo, where she was born and then to Verona, Italy. Eventually in 2019 she moved to the United States and as she wrote to me she, “stayed for love ahahahah.”
To Ryan and Alessandra, BBR is because you two believed in the brand & our shared love for Italia. Per sempre ♥️
